There’s so much information!

The world of wellness and clean beauty is positively overflowing with information. Some of it is not correct and most of it is biased by the commercial needs of brands and platforms. The aim of this blog is to throw some light on the topics and offer reliable information without the marketing hype.  We make better choices when we know the whole truth, but we often have to dig deeper to find it.  I want to get straight to the point and save you the digging!

Why now?

Life as an entrepreneur is exhilarating and having decided to wind my business down I’ve had a few months to catch my breath, reflect and process. I now want to share the learnings of my career at Whole Foods and as an entrepreneur in this industry.  It’s what I love and it’s my way to reconnect with both you and all that I am passionate about.

I’m an advocate of a plant based lifestyle . I feel that at this moment when we are coming out of lockdown we can focus on our health and our immunity in a new way, being even more aware of societal impacts and our own fragility.

How I approach things

My approach is evidence based. I always look at ingredients, the research to back up claims and the business and economic model behind a product.  I don’t believe we have to consume less. We need to consume more, of the right type of products!  When we buy something we send a signal to the market about what matters to us.

Where does optimism fit?

Optimism has been a defining trait of my character and is the internal light that keeps me motivated and happy.  My score on The Constructive Thinking Inventory and other psychometric tools is off the chart! I’m properly certified in that respect ☺

I have seen so much positive change in consumer behaviour.  When I started working at Whole Foods as Head of Health & Beauty in 2008 the whole wellness thing was fringe interest and we were a sub culture.  Now there’s a new appreciation of health in a more holistic way, and the link with our environment.  I’m inspired to continue this evolution.

Let’s go! Vamos!
